Refrigerant Reclaim saves you money
When the federal government unilaterally forced an almost 10-fold increase in the price of Refrigerant 22, the main refrigerant in home air conditioners a few years back, it looked to be a huge bite out of consumers’ pockets during A/C repairs. Fortunately, HVAC contractors adapted quickly. Where we used to routinely recover refrigerant during a repair, turn it into a recycler and then refill the system with new or “virgin” refrigerant, we now routinely re-install the same refrigerant back in the system it came out of. Concerns about system contamination are addressed by using a fresh filter-dryer during the re-installation process. This common-sense adaptation routinely saves consumers hundreds of dollars on a service call, as well as helps the environment.
